“This special project called “AVOSKA” consists of nine components that deal with the complicated emotions and feelings that I experienced with my move between the two continents”, explains Marianna Nazaruk, designer and creative director of MARY’N. She was born in Ukraine in the Perestroika period and moved to Israel when she was 14.
“In the course of the systematic deconstruction of the significant cultural components that are present in the wardrobes of the two worlds to which I belong, I tried to interpret elements of truth that touch on the concepts of identity and existence.
The deep secret towards the ambivalent nature of my double identity became the basis for the research that I conducted with materials and craftwork.”
